Leo Palace Golf Resort, Guam - Nalathai Vongjalorn shot a three day score of 221 to win the Guam Women’s National Golf Team Tryout. Her final day even par 72 gave her a six stroke victory over Kyong Sterling. Kana Bangs, Guam’s top female junior golfer finished in third place. Vongjalorn’s victory earned her points on the prestigious Royal & Ancient (R&A) World Amateur Golf Rankings.

For the Men’s Division, Brentt Salas shot a three day score of 219 to win the Guam Men’s National Golf Team Tryout. His final day three under par 69 earned him a 12 stroke victory over Vic Borja, Guam’s top senior golfer. Hiro Kubo shot 234 to finish in third place. Salas’ steady golf earned him points on the R&A’s World Amateur Golf Rankings.

GNGF conducts team tryouts on a monthly basis for individual ranking points of Guam amateur golfers. Top ranked Guam amateurs are normally selected to represent Guam at prestigious off island tournaments such as the Malaysia Amateur Championships, SPG, Taipei’s APGC, Thailand Singha Tournament and Nomura Cup.

GNGF is the local non-profit golf federation overseeing Guam’s amateur golfers and junior golfers and is affiliated with numerous international golf organizations such as the R & A, WATC, USGA, GNOC, IMG Junior World Championships and GHIN.
